Luke Jerram is valued for his ability to generate and clearly communicate new ideas. From television programmes, architecture, education, product design, science exhibits and (of course) artworks, Jerram applies his creativity to any subject matter, situation or problem.

Recent clients have included: Royal Shakespeare Company, The Wellcome Trust, The Science Museum, FACT, Arts Council England, DCFS, Phaeno Museum, Futurelab, Bristol South Pool, at-Bristol science museum, Ameliarts, DA2, Vistaprojects, ISVR - University of Southampton.

Consultant to Royal Shakespeare Company

Jerram is currently working with the Events and Exhibitions department at the RSC to help them deliver their strategy. Their mission is to excite and stimulate existing and new audiences about Shakespeare and the work of the company by exploring and deepening the connection between the audience, Shakespeare, the company and the contemporary world.

A dozen or so proposals were presented that respond to a specific context and brief. A number of these prohects have been selected and are now under development. See Sky Orchestra Grounded on home page.

Annual Swimming Pool Fayre

Luke Jerram's local swimming pool is under threat of closure. To raise the profile of the pool and bring community, staff and pool users together Jerram designed and helped organise the first Annual Swimming Pool Fayre.

With bunting, music, tea and cakes local organisations gave displays to a packed pool of visitors. Events included synchronised swimming, water polo and presentations from the diving community and lifeguards.

Generating Ideas for Primary Care Trusts

Jerram is currently working with FACT (Foundation for Art and Creative Technology), generating creative design ideas for the new Primary Care Trusts in Liverpool.

Drawing to left is of a vertical herb garden designed for a small court yard that connects FACT with the PCT. Tea, herbs and flowers will be grown for the local residents, cafe and employees.

Arts Consultant for DCFS

Working with a team of designers, educational specialists and architects Jerram has worked with Bideford School as a consultant to help the staff and students design interactives for their new campus. The White Design team have were awarded £0.5million from the DCFS to deliver a number of the proposals they developed. See here for project outcomes.

Lighting Middlesbrough Town Hall

Vista Projects commissioned Jerram to develop lighting proposals for Middlebrough Town Hall.

The design uses mirrors to reflect light down into the street, lightening the appearance of the building.

Launching European Capital of Culture 2008

Working with children and staff at FACT, Liverpool to make this huge balloon they helped launch the European City of Culture 2008.

Since 2002 Jerram has ran workshops with students of all ages, from primary schools to students studying for their MA. In 2006 he was presented a "Drawing Inspiration Award" for his work.

Experiments for Phaeno Museum

Ansel Associates commissioned Jerram to generate a proposal full of new ideas for artworks and interactive experiments. Employing Jerram's patented retinal after-image technology an interactive artwork was commissioned and installed in Phaeno Museum, Germany 2006.

Other similar science and art related proposals have been commissioned for at-Bristol and the Science Museum in London.
